While visiting the town of Agueda, Portugal(葡萄牙), Flickr photobugPatrícia Almeida stumbled(踌躇) upon this fantastic art installation—floating umbrellas! While they’re not actually floating—the colorful nylon umbrellas are suspended(悬浮的) on wires strung(捆扎) between buildings—they provide great shade during the hot Portuguese afternoons (as evidenced by the fellow resting on the pink bench!). Though we’re not sure if the green “carpet” is part of the installation, it certainly provides a great contrast and really ties all those whimsical colorstogether. Very reminiscent(怀旧的) of our favorite childhood stories, wouldn’t you say? The installation, commissioned by the local arts council, is part of an annual festival known as Agitagueda.
